Cutting through four layers of cotton

I forgot to post this one last week.

Project prep is always time consuming but essential. For this project, 1.5” strips of fabrics are needed. If you’ve ever tried to cut the same thing with precision over and over again you know how taxing it is. I have a hand injury that has exacerbated the consequences of repetitive work. Whether it’s meal prep or cleaning or leisure pursuits, I’m always looking for ways to conserve hand strength and utility. We usually cut one layer at a time but it was getting late last Thursday and we both wanted a short cut.

Is slower faster? The debate rages on!

My attention is divided this week; the lure of a new toy is always a welcome distraction.

The big take away here is the minimal char even at high power ranges. That was unexpected but happy news. These edges will be enclosed in seams so it wouldn’t have mattered but it’s good to know there is a lot of leeway with power settings even at low speeds.

Whew!

I hope you’ll all join us in making something this weekend, whether it’s a cake, a memory, or art!
