Rubber Stamps and a Loose Mirror

Hey everybody, this weekend’s adventures brought some surprises. Because we did our first rubber stamps a year ago I truly thought that this stamp would be press and play and not even worth filming, but as it happened, we ran into a symptom of a problem we haven’t seen before on any of our projects. If you have a laser and work with anything rubber or possibly leather you may appreciate learning from our mistakes here. If you don’t run a laser this might be boring unless you’re in the mood for a mystery that gets solved in the end. The issue was unique enough to us that I thought it warranted a dedicated post. This video is a lot longer than usual, 20 minutes, because it took us several steps to identify why the rubber was essentially frying on the right and left sides of the stamp. We fiddled with power settings and added a layer of wood under the rubber before Cameron figured it out.

Lesson learned

Here are stills of the finished product.

It’s late here; I will post about our other endeavors tomorrow.

Go make something great!
