Let’s Rock!

This weekend has mainly been about rock. While we are always excited to learn something new we do wish the circumstances under which we learned so much were rooted in a joyful occasion. Lots of lessons learned here; doing is the best teacher for sure.

Here are some videos that are shortcuts to what we learned. I have learned since filming that jet black and absolute black are sometimes used interchangeably by honest mistake. Whether your purveyor calls it jet black or absolute black, the most important attribute, if you want the cleanest, clearest result, is the finest most indistinct amount of grain or flecking in the stone as possible, the blackest you can find, and high polish.

It’s a chonk!

We also experimented with rocks.

We filled these engravings with acrylic paint

And for something more joyous, we completed the lotus notebook order for our lovely North Carolinian customer! She has already seen these so I can share this photo. It’s so fun to collaborate with people to get them exactly what they want! And the good news is that her recipients can have them refilled as often as they need at any place that makes bound books.

Aren’t they pretty!

I love her color choices; they will make their way to her this coming week!

I love ending on a happy note. I hope everyone has had a great weekend and that the week ahead holds something to look forward to. -Dana

Thank you! We are thrilled that it turned out so well. Took a few days and a lot of testing to get there but we’ve got it down now ????
