Greetings! I’ve been waiting to post this until Keely received it and now she has, so here it is. I decided to paint it and “weather” it to make it super surfy and casual. I feel like the “faded” blue adds a needed twist to it. As a reminder, BEECH is the spelling of the street she lives on, not a misspelling of the word “beach”. That would be a violation of the highest order for an old English major like myself!

Cameron spent much of today cleaning up in the shop. It has to happen some time and he sure stays busy at work during the week. But tomorrow I hope to cajole him into a few makes! I’ll share what we come up with; the one thing I’ll say is that we are getting into multi step projects that require both prep time and dry/set times between layers so the finished projects have a longer cycle time.
We also had some distraction this week. A mama cat with five newborns chose one of the basement egress window wells as a nest for her kittens. Unfortunately, she is feral, and our attempt to feed her went sideways and she ran away. Over the course of four hours she retrieved four of the five kittens. It was pouring down rain and got dark. Fortunately I have a contact who is connected to several local cat rescues who came to our aid. She is also a vet tech. She estimated that the kittens were no more than a day or two old.

The good news is that the little guy is eating up a storm. He goes to work with her at the veterinary hospital too so he can be fed every few hours. She says he’s doing fantastic. In the meantime, Cameron set up motion activated cameras for the back yard and the window well. If mama returns with the babies we will trap her and call Gabby.
Those of you who know us personally know that while we love all animals we are definitely cat people. We lost our last cat this past November and decided that we wouldn’t be taking on any more cats. We are getting older and would never consider relinquishing a beloved cat or cats because we could no longer care for them. After dealing with the end of life disease process with so many cats over the course of my life and the toll the losses take on me, I just can’t imagine being 75 and dealing with all of that heartache and stress. Ten years ago I probably would have adopted all six of them!
Pardon my digression from the laser content; we would have been more productive this week were it not for our surprise guests ????????????????????????
