Lawnmower Robot Garage Build Continues!

Greetings everybody! Have you folks been working your fingers to the bone this weekend or is that just us?

Cameron fabricated every slat for the siding on the “garage” this weekend, went on a protracted voyage to Lowes for some additional hardware, roofing shingles, some rubber pavers for the floor or base of the garage, and a hinge for the roof of the garage so it will open like a toy box. He also gave all of the siding its first coat of paint. But much of the time this weekend was spent engineering the track for the tambour styled garage door (a lot like your own garage door if it bends/folds as it raises and lowers) which, honestly, what he came up with is pretty genius in terms of the fabrication. I should be used to that from him by now but he still amazes me OFTEN!

I regret that I didn’t photograph him after he finished cutting all of the composite for the siding. Think mime or a steampunk version of Charlie Chaplin thanks to all of the safety gear you have to wear cutting that stuff. He was luminescent!

Here is the video explaining the processes he went through to move the project forward. I know he’s looking forward to sitting in his office chair tomorrow working on analysis for the upcoming moon mission. He’s been on his feet most of the weekend and it was unseasonably hot here.

I’ve been working on my own project this weekend but nothing that jibes with the theme of this blog. But hey, here is my latest sourdough loaf!

She has AIR!

I hope you all have a great week and that you made something great this weekend!
